Nova Navigator is a computing device built to provide easy access to a user’s computing, information and entertainment needs. Novatium has used its experience in the field of network and utility computing to come up with a solution that has assimilated the advantages of the network computing and the personal computing worlds. The earlier offering from Novatium, Nova netPC, is a network computer that depends on a server for most of its computing requirements. This device thus r equires a high bandwidth network connection to a server f arm. These requirements resulted in Nova netPC not becoming an off-the-shelf product but a product that is a part of a service provided by Novatium and a ISP like MTNL. Nova Navigator breaks out of this constraint. This product is not tightly bound on the bandwidth available to offer applications to its user. So anyone with an Internet connection at their home/office can us device. Depending on the user’s bandwidth the applications available to the user vary. The device uses a combination of local and remote server based applications to overcome the limiting requirement of high bandwidth. Thus Nova Navigator becomes an off-the-shelf product.
